How do I stop messages from popping up in windowsxp?

Just started using windowsxp and keep getting messages
popping up warning me my pc is open to attackers, hackers
etc...and that this is a feature of windowsxp.To get rid
of these messages I should check out the website of the
people sending me tthe messages. How do I block these
messages?
 
Hey i had the same problem too.
Its very annoying eh. here's what to do.

control panel, administrative tools, services scroll down
to messenger, right click>stop. right click>properties,
log on(tab) disable.

Then u wont get any more messeges.

get a firewall.
