How do I speed up saves while working big (>32Mb) Word documents?

Hi there,

working on a product catalogue which is a big (32Mb) Word document, and it
takes about a minute and a half to save, even though the changes are very
small (ie changing a comma or a price).

Using Office 2000, with SR-1 & SP3 applied.

Is there a way to speed up saves? Can Office Binder help in splitting the
file into more manageable chunks, but keeping it grouped? Would converting
the .doc file to FrontPage speed up the filesaves?

Cheers,

Don't convert to FrontPage unless you are working on a web site. Office
Binder is not what you want.

Do _not_ enable "Fast Saves!"

Try working with linked graphics rather than embedded ones, this will shrink
your file size dramatically.

If you need to break your document into multiple smaller documents, you
might want to look at

If you can afford it, consider increasing your computer's RAM. This speeds
up a lot of processes.
