WORD 2007 : Extremely Slow to SAVE documents

What are the factors effecting the length of time required to SAVE a document
in WORD 2007?

In recent weeks we have seen a marked increase in the length of time
required to save ANY document in WORD 2007. Most documents now take more than
3 minutes to save, and WORD is not responsive while it is saving.

Short documents, long documents, simple documents, complex documents,
created as and save in 2007's .docx format, and or created in 2003's .doc
format and then CONVERTED to .docx.

OFFICE Diagnostics does not detect any problems.

Which AV software are you using? Are you saving to a network share?
My guess is that you are using one of the AV software packages that has
problems with Word 2007 such as Kaspersky and MacAfee. If using these do
ensure that Office document checking is disabled, or use something that
works such as AVG Free. (turn off the document checking in that too).

We use Microsoft OneCare for anti-virus and malware protection.
We do not use a network.

What are the other factors effecting the length of time required to SAVE a
document in WORD 2007?
