How do I setup load balancing w/ 2 NICs?

Hi,

If I have 2 NICs in a server and I want to do load balancing as well as
redundancy, how do I set up the second NIC? Do I give it a unique IP as
well? What kind of special settings do I need to configure on the second
NIC?

Thanks,

Sam

Windows Network Load Balancing "clusters" two or more Servers together, not
NICs. This requires two identical Servers with a single NIC in each.

Clustering two NICs (aka "teaming") requires special NICs ($$$) that come
with thier own software for doing that. It also requires compatible
Switches to go on the opposite end of the cable. So it isn't just the NICs
you are dealing with,...it effects the rest of your network as well.

This article is for 2003, but I'm sure the principles are all the same for
2000.
