how do I save a mail message and attachment as one doc?

i'm using Office 2003 and need to save the attachments with original messages
in one document. when i used Office 97 i could just use 'save as' and the
message + attachment could be saved as a Word doc - the attachment would
appear at the bottom of the document (message) and by double clicking on it,
it could be opened. using 2003 i don't seem to have that option - i have to
save it as a message and then it won't allow me to add info to the original
message unless i say 'edit text'.

There is no way to do what you describe in Outlook 2003. I don't even think
it was possible in Outlook 97, but it's been a while since I've used it.

Thanks a mil for your response.

I had to change from 2000 Server using Office 97 to XP Pro using Office 2003
- can it have anything to do with that?

I would send you an example of how I used to save the message and attachment
as one word document if I could. See I do recruitment and people respond to
ad's online - some cut & paste their CV's as text and others attach their
CV's as a Word document. That's the reason why these two documents have to
stay together - I need to know where I got the CV from in the first place!

Hi Liz,

I'm not sure if this is what you mean (I'm Dutch - so I might interpret your
text differently :)) but when you drag your message from outlook to your
desktop or a directory where you keep your files, you have the one in all
package....

Kind regards

Evert
