Edited Attachment

I opened an attachment in Word (by double-clicking the attachment name in my
Outlook 2007 message) and edited a few things, then hit the save button.
When I went to hit enter, I smacked the delete key instead, and lost the
attachment on the e-mail.

Where will I find the saved attachment? When I go in on a new attachment
and select "save as" it gives me the My Documents panel, but my previous save
was not there, and nothing is showing up on search except the original,
unedited document.

Is it possible to retrieve this?

Hi,
local disk>documents and settings>user name>local
settings>temp>cache>content,outlook>file name*

the file name depends on your attachment.

You can also try by checking temp files - "start>run>%temp%" but not sure of
any results since its a temp file.

Hope this works, as you have deleted the attachment.

Only on XP. Vista's path is somewhat different.

Nope. It's not in the %temp% folder.

Never, NEVER edit an attachment if you want to avoid this type of problem.
Save it to disk first and then edit it.

It's in the Outlook Secure Temp Folder. See this for an explanation and
instructions on how to find it:
