How do I return an unwanted e-mail back to sender?

I am being e-mailled at work by someone who I do not wish to receive e-mail
from. It's not spam, it's my ex. I want to just 'bounce' it back so that it
is returned to sender as undeliverable. Can I do that? And how?

I made a Rule for a staff member for this.

If from person XXX then reply with then "write what looks like an
undeliverable message"

That worked a treat! You'll need Exchange to do this.

I hope this helps you at least a little bit!

If you are on an Exchange server ask your IT people to block that email
address at the server. If not you can create a Rule to block it at your
inbox. Create a Reply rule using the message Judy Gleeson describes.

Only a server can send a real bounce. Moreover bouncing to a spammer is
pointless because either the sender address doesn'e exist or it's a hijacked
address and you'll be sending the NDR to an innocent victim. The spammer
will NEVER see the bounce, so why bother?

Brian. It's not a spammer but her ex and she wants to be sure they know she
is NOT reading their email.

I did this for a staff member who was being harrassed. It worked
immediately. She also blocked them on her phone.

I couldn't tell that from the original post. Thanks for your solution.

"It's not spam, it's my ex" - you've missed this bit in reading it then!
