How do I restore a default tool bar

some piece of software which isn't visable in the
add/remove programs, has setup shop on my computer and I
can't get rid of the tool bar permanently.

it may be just malware/spyware, but some are like trojans
to start with dl spybot s&d update it and run it, also
adaware update and run. you may need bigger guns, post
back.
