How do I resize my window?

Hello, I have read through all the messages in this group and it seems like I
am the odd man out. When I am using IE and I click to have a link open in a
new window, the one that pops up is almost full size. This is very annoying,
I want the window to be really, really small. I have tried using the sizing
feature, by right clicking on the blue bar at the top, but to be honest I am
somewhat computer retarded, and have no idea how to keep this setting. So
basically what I am asking is for someone to explain to me how I can have it
set that any link I open in another window will come up at small, pretty much
the only thing I want to see is the blue bar and only about 1/3 of that. I
hope this makes sense and that someone can help me.

Thank you

When you open the window via a link, close all other
programs/windows in the Taskbar. Use the cursor to size the
window by grabbing the edges and corners. When you have it
set to the size you want, close the window using File>Close,
or File>Exit. Windows will remember the size of the window
for that task from now on.

Thank you for the reply. I tryed what you suggested and it didn't work. Is
there a minimum size the window has to be? I'll keep trying what you
suggested though.

thanks

First Right click on the top on the Blue Bar and select Restore. Then do as
Bruce suggested

Hi confused_in_indiana :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

How to Maximize Windows:

Courtesy of Jim Byrd -

"Close all windows EXCEPT the one that opens "minimized"; right click on
your Task Bar, either on the open space on the right or left end (your
choice); select "Tile Windows Horizontally" and IE will maximize; close IE.
Re-open IE and it will be maximized.

or.....you can also try....

IE New Window Maximizer 2.4.0.1 - Free
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=1746
(Uses Windows API calls and automatically maximizes every browser window you
open)

There's also AutoSizer, free, here:
http://www.southbaypc.com/ (what I
use, BTW)

or..

Courtesy of Robert Aldwinckle:

Do *not* maximize the window when you want to preserve a window's normal
properties. From your description it sounds as if you may be getting
temporary persistence of a window's maximized properties. In that case a
window's normal properties would be unchanged. In order to save a window's
normal properties you have to close the window in normal mode; further, if
there are any other windows open in normal mode still open their properties
will be preserved when they close. So if you aren't making sure that
iexplore.exe is no longer an active process (e.g. using Task Manager) after
you close your modified window that could also explain your symptom even if
you are making your modifications on a normal mode window.

Hope this helps :)
