How do I reset Word to automatically type over highlighted text?

I have somehow turned off the feature that allows you to delete and replace
highlighted text upon typing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Tools > Options > Edit (tab)
Check "Typing replaces selection"

Tools > Options > Edit > check "Typing replaces selection"
