Continuous text highlight problem

Since I updated my Office 2007 on 4/14/2009, one of the features in Word 2007
stopped working.

In Word 2007, when you press the "Text Highlight" button, you could
continuously highlight the text simply by selecting the text. Then if you
hit the button again, it returns to normal.

Now, if I press the button and select text once, the text gets highlited but
continuous text highlighting feature gets turned off.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you.

To format multiple sections of text with Format Painter
Format several chunks of text with these simple steps:
1. Highlight the text you want to use as your template.
2. Double-click the Format Painter button.
The Format Painter now continuously formats text that you highlight.
3. 3.When you're finished, click the Format Painter button again to turn the
feature off.
You can also turn this feature off by pressing a key or double-clicking in
the document.
