Hi, as the subject says: how do I repair IE6?
I want to try this as I have recently, today, got a problem with IE locking
up on some sites.
Also, I seem to have lost the ability to 'click on thumbnail to view as full
size image', noting happens, except a lock up.

Anyway to fix this?

Thanks

Hi

Take a look at the tips in this post:

If that doesn't help, see step 4. and 5. here:

About two years ago I used the regedit described in this article to
reinstall IE. I know the article says for Windows XP, but I used it
successfully on Windows 2000. Seems like after setting "IsInstalled" to 0,
and after restart then IE/OE reverted back to IE5.0 Then you can just run
the setup again for IE6

Thanks to all who replied to my help request. I had a 2 week old backup of
my system, and restored it today. IE6 is behaving itself now.
One thing I did yesterday, was to install a trial version of AdShield, and
found IE6 slowing down almost right away. Then I ran SpyBot and Adaware just
to see if anything else was causing the slow down, and there were a number
of eroneous entries to do with webtracking etc, so I removed them, but it
did not seem to help much, even after a reboot.
So as I say, I restored from a backup and all seems to be well again.
Oh, the links are interesting reading, and I will keep them in mind for the
future.

Thanks again
