I want to remove XP from one of my two drives--I installed it on this
drive because I needed to reformat it (due to some problems on the
disk) and this was the only way I knew how to do it. I already have XP
on another drive. I would like to either directly remove XP from the
drive or reformat the drive completely but all the instructions I've
found on the web are complicated or haven't worked. Is there a simple
way, i.e. for dummies???

Are you saying that all I have to do is delete all the folders in the
drive on which I don't want the XP? This drive has no data on it
yet--only the folders and programs set up by XP. The links you listed
are, as usual, confusing. Seems like a simple thing--the instructions
always seems so complex! Thanks!

If it is NOT the boot drive delete them
You print out instructions, then simply follow line by line

But you listed three different links, and they all involve many steps
and are for advanced PC users. Also, I do NOT want to reinstall XP on
that drive. I want to remove everything from it, including XP. Isn't
there a simple way to wipe a drive clean of everything, including XP?
Thanks!

As long as it's not the boot drive just right click the drive and choose
format.

Hi Ricky--

Thanks! That was what I was looking for. Worked great. Now here's
another question. Since I created the situation in which I had one
Windows XP OS on each of my drives, when I boot up I've been getting an
OS choices menu--when I boot off choice #2 (which is the one in Drive
C) everything works fine. Any idea how to remove choice #1 (which was
the one in Drive D), which now doesn't work at all as I reformatted the
drive it was on?

Thanks!!

Bob

Start..run..type msconfig and on the boot.ini tab click the check all boot
paths button.

The links were FYI, in future, they also showed how to format a drive
I also told you where to format the drive using the default win tools - Disk
Management

Ricky--

Thanks--worked perfectly! OK, can I ask you another question? I'm
trying to get my Outlook Express to import messages from DBX files, but
I've tried everything and keep getting a message saying Outlook Express
can't recognize any messages in the files and that they might be in
use. Any idea how I can get it to import them?

Thanks so much for your help!

Bob

You;re welcome..glad it helped. For the OE question you need to ask in an OE
mewsgroup. You'll get much better help there.
