I purchased a brand new laptop that was preloaded with XP and recently I may have deleted important files by accident. How can I reload XP without the disks?

Read the User's Guide that came with your new computer. Many PC
manufacturer's use a "hidden partition" to store information to reinstall
the Windows XP operating system or to repair it. If you want the actual
Restore CD, contact your computer manufacturer and request one.

You could try System Restore. I don't know if it would work or not regarding
deleted files.

Your laptop should have come with some means of recovering the
operating system and programs. Check your user manual to see how to
run system recovery and to recover programs. Be very careful running
system recovery, however! Some recovery programs will completely wipe
out the hard drive and restore the computer to the way it was shipped
from the factory. Backup all your data before doing any kind of
recovery.

Greetings --

This is a question you'll have to direct at the laptop's
manufacturer. I know of no way.

Here the easiest if can start in in safe mode. (Get your product
key-should be on the back or bottom of the computer). Start windows
xp in safe mode by pressing F8. Look for the i386 folder. In that
folder should be Winnt32.exe Click on that. Make sure you chose the
advance option and select Choose the partition you would like to
install windows xp on. (Don’t choose the recovery). Later it will
ask you whether or not you want to do a repair install. This might
be good if you don’t want to lose any data. The let it run.
It may need to be reactivated after this.
