How do I reinstall Favorites to Internet Explorer

G

Guest

I backed up my C Drive to an external hard drive. Then I reinstalled the
Windows XP Home operating system (because I was having frequent freezes).
How would I locate the Internet Explorer Favorites Folder/file so I can
import this information back into Internet Explorer.
Thanks for your help.

Your Favorites are stored in C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Favorites
You could copy the contents of that folder over, but the best way would be
to use IE's File...Import/Export tool to export the Favorites from your
external drive to your current drive.

You cannot Import them if you did not Export them but you can just
copy the contents of the old Favorites folder to the new Favorites
folder.

Favorites location in Windows XP if installed on C:
C:\Documents and Settings\logon_name\Favorites
If it is in a different place, just search for it.
