How do I reformat a hard drive with Win2K loaded on it?

P

Pamela

I'm in an elementary school environment. I need to
reformat the hard drive on a computer to reload it - I go
to my command prompt and it acts like it's going to work
and I get a message to "dismount" - how do I do this?

Thanks,
Pamela

If you just want to reinstall Windows 2000 or Windows XP, simply boot from
the installation CD rom and delete and recreate the partition when prompted
to choose which partition you want to install to.

Make sure you install the latest service pack (currently SP4 for Windows
2000) and patch your system with at least the MS03-039 hotfix. Preferably,
use Windows Update to install all available updates.

Hope this helps
