How do I recover a contact list?

When I click on the TO: icon in my email I get an error messages saying;
The address list could not be displayed. The Contacts folder associaed with
this address list could not be opened; it may have meen moved or deleted, or
you do not have permissions.

But when you click on the contacts folder in the outlook short cuts area the
contacts come up.

Remove the Outlook Address Book service from your mail profile and restart
Outlook. Then add it again.
