How do I put a watermark on only one page of a document

I am working in Office XP and I want a watermark on the first page only. how
can I do this? There does not seem to be any way in the dialog box to do
this. I tried setting "Different first page" but I still get it on both
pages. I tried different odd and even pages and still got it on both pages.
Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks, Cass

Hi Cass,

The dialog is fairly unintelligent (dare I say "stupid"?). It's pretty easy
to clean up after it, though.

"Different first page" is the correct setting. Put the cursor on page 2 and
open the header area (the top left corner should say "Header", not "First
Page Header"). Select the watermark and press the Delete key. Close the
header. The watermark will now be only on page 1.
