How do I prevent attachments from appearing in the body?

Sometimes attachments appears within the body of the text and sometimes they
show up on the attachment line. Is there any way to make them always appear
on the attachment line? What causes an attachment to appear in the body of
the text?

If the mail message format is in Rich Text then the attachment will appear
in the body, if Plain or HTML format then the attachment will appear in its
own field.

It depends on the format of the email. Rich text format will show the
attachments in the body of the email. Rich text format is specific to
Microsoft Outlook, other email clients have difficulty reading it. Plain text
and HTML formats will show the attachments on the attachment line.
