I want to add new icons to an outlook group. I did it once before but forgot
how it was done. I also wanted to know if I could move an existing icon and
items from one group to another???

Explain what you mean.
What is an "outlook group?"
What are you trying to do?

I am using Outlook 2002 with windows xp pro. I meant I wanted to
make new icons in the outlook bar in order to save emails in different
folders than the default ones. I did this once but could not find out how to
make the shortcuts now.

Use Folder List instead. Once you've got it set up the way you want, drag
the relevant Folder to your Outlook Bar.
