how do I move cells in a.xls column to an access d'base

I want to move 1000@ cells in a .xls column to access. - If I try to copy and
paste I am told that the text is too long.

Thanks for this. - I now have a separate attachment containing this date. -
Of course, what i want to have is all of this data in the same file. - Is
this not possible within access, or should I rupdate my original excel file
and then transfer it all to access one mor time?
