How do I know what sound card I have?

I am trying to figure out what sound card I have. I do not want to take my computer apart if I do not have to because I know NOTHING about computers really. I wouldn't even know where to look for the sound card. I was wondering if there is anything I can run or look for on my computer to tell me what sound card is in my computer???

Please help! I am going nuts here!

Thanks!

If this is a store-bought pre-built computer, this should be in the manual
that came with the computer. If not, if you know the model number of your
computer, go to the manufacturer's Web site and see if you can find the info
there.

Most newer computers do not have a "sound
card" at all. All the sound circuitry is integrated
onto the motherboard, and, unless it's more than
two channel, will often be based on the AC '97
chipset.

Is there some specific reason you need to know what you
have? Most Windows apps do not care what your
sound hardware is, as long as you have some, things will work.

Start the Control Panel / System / Hardware / Device Manager.
You should be able to see your sound card under "Sound, Video
and Game Controllers".

Ýf you have a mainboard CD as MSI or something like that, put it into your
cdrom than it will show your hardware drivers(Ethernet, soundcard, video card
...)then you have to just click what you want to setup it will do it
automaticly.
Ýf you couldn't load it (if you couldn't find your driver in cd menu)You
have to open your case. And don't afraid it is so easy, you will open just to
screw and you will the card that you plug your speakers.Than you can find
your driver in internet.(for example if you www.creative.com or usally
www.creative.com.tw)

Good Luck
