How do I know if a message is sent?

Why do my messages appear to stay in the outbox folder even but I have
clicked on "send"? They don't dissappear until I have closed Windows mail and
open it again. In my older version (outlook express) I would always see when
I had sent the messages as they would change folder. Now I am never sure if
they have been sent or not, until I close and open Windows mail again and go
to the sent-folder.

Another thing is that the numbers of new e-mails that is in the ( ) to the
left, don't go away even if I have read the mail or deleted them. It is the
same problem there, I have to close Windows mail before they disappear. This
is annoying.

Make sure you don't have an anti-virus scanning email.

Uncheck Group messages by conversation. Sometimes this will show messages
that are otherwise hidden.

Check if messages are staying in the Outbox folder. If they, they probably
aren't. You'll have to ask the people you're sending to in order to be
sure,
though.

Click on Tools, then Options, then Send. If there's no check mark in the
box
before Save copy of sent messages in the 'Sent Items' folder, click on that
box and then Apply. Click on OK.

Click on Sent Items, then View, then Current View, then Show All Messages.
