how do I keep formatting intact when sending email?

When I compose a message and send to a group, of which I am one of the
recipients, all the formatting disappears. For example, bold, underline,
font etc go to plain Times Roman with no bold etc, even though my default
font is Arial and bold, underline etc were used.
Any ideas?

Perhaps that "group" (whatever you mean by that) only transmits mail in
plain text or reformats it?
