Greyed out formatting email buttons

I had to have Outlook 2000 re-installed on my computer and now when composing
emails all of the formatting buttons (bold, underline, font style/size, etc.)
are greyed out. Mail format is HTML, HTML editor is Microsoft Word.

If you change from Word as the editor to only Outlook do you have some
formatting options with html?
Outlook might "think" Word is on vacation. Try repairing the Office
installation.

Bill,
The only options I have as far as html editor are word, excel, frontpage, or
notepad. I tried all options and had no luck. I'm not real computer savvy,
so can you tell me how to repair the Office installation so I can try that?
Thanks! Sherri

The setting to use or not to use Word as your email editor is in Outlook.
Tools | Options ...
I think it's on the Mail Format tab for Outlook 2000.
Repairing the Office installation is done via the Office entry in Add/Remove
in Control Panel.

I think you were right, Outlook thought "word" was on vacation...I changed
the settings and changed them back 3 times and low and behold the buttons are
available again. Thanks for your help.
