How do I Import vision from a DVD (non commercial) onto my movie m

Hi, I am trying to work out how I can import vision from a dvd (inserted into
my computer) and then edit that vision into a small clip which I hope to
email to people. Do I have this option?

I am new to movie maker - can someone talk me through how to do this??
