is the model for the network we have. it's basically a single xp pro pc
connected to the hub and provides ICS to the LAN workstations. The hub also
has the DSL modem in the chain up port. This is working, however, i added an
incoming connection to the server using modem so that my home pc can use the
internet when i call and connect the server pc, but this isn't working. I can
see the server and shares but not the workstations. I have the same network
group defined for the home pc and the LAN. the tcp/ip properties for the home
pc is the same as that of the LAN pcs. my idea is to let the server pc think
the home pc is part of the LAN which should give me access to internet but
isn't working. what do i need to do to make this work? is there something i'm
missing? help pls.

You may have to Bridge the two networks.

Look in Help and Support for 'bridging network adapter'.
