How do I get a DOS prompt on XP. I need to move some files into a dos
program. Thanks

Not really a "DOS" prompt but hold down the Windows key and hit R. Type "cmd" and hit Enter.
 
Understand, there is no DOS in XP. There is a Command Prompt that emulates
DOS. Go to Start, type cmd in the run box and press enter or go to
Start\All Programs\Accessories\Command Prompt.
 
Start ... All Programs ... Accessories ... Command Prompt
