How do I get 'tiles' to view in descending date order

I just upgraded to XP. I really like the "tiles" view in
explorer. I prefer to view files in descending date
order. I cannot get the tiles to appear in descending
order without first changing to details and then placing
in descending date order there and then returning to
tiles.

Is there an easier way to do this? And, how can I make
this the default?

When you go to view and then to 'arrange icons by' then choose 'modified'.
If you then go to the tools menu then 'folder options' then 'view' - scroll
down until you see 'remember each folders view settings' and make sure it
is ticked.
