possible to not use tile view as a default search output fomat?

Every time I perform the search using explorer for certain file types, even
if I've previously selected another format (such as detail view), explorer
always goes back to viewing with tiles . Is it possible to tell windows to
respect my previous view choice and not change it? Or perhaps tell it to
stop using tiles for a particular file type? Or best of all, blow away the
tile view from the entire system, since I never want to use the tile view,
ever?

After you select the view option you want to stick with, go to Tools, Folder
Options and select the View tab. At the top of the box, click the Apply to
All Folders button. That should make the view stay the way you want.

Don't hold yourself back on my account. Just ignore my response and work
with the advice from the dozens of others who answered your post.

Here is another suggestion to pi$$ you off: Don't use Windows Search. Use
Agent Ransack instead. http://www.mythicsoft.com/agentransack/
