Explorer losing Views settings

I use Windows Explorer all the time. I have it set to classic mode with the
folders view on and detail file view.
Recently it seems to have developed a problem where the files window on the
right randomly changes to Tiles view.

I reset the window to details, but it is not persistent. If I change to a
different folder then return to the one that flipped to Tiles view, it is
back at Tiles view.

KB813711 discussed how to fix this in pre-SP2 installs, but I have SP2.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

That depends on how many folders you have on your PC. By default
Windows XP allows only 400 folders for a custom setting like Tiles or
Details. You can change it from 400 to 8000 here:
Folders View (increase from 400 to 8000)

Thanks, that worked great.

I think SP2 changed it to 5000, now 8000 seems to fix my problem.
