How do I get rid of the Tray Icon?

I want to get rid of the "New Mail" icon (envelope) in the system tray. It's
very annoying because it does not know if you delete a new item, it only
knows you did'nt "Open" it.

In Outlook, Go to Tools, Options, Preference tab, E-mail
options.., and uncheck the "display a notification..."
box.
