How do I get rid of "Read-only" in all my files?

Somehow, all of my files in Word are now "read-only"; I don't know how to
turn this off so that I can make edits and save.

In Windows Explorer, browse to the folder with the files...highlight them, then right click and select properties...remove the check mark infront of Read-Only.

You can do it for multiple files at once too.

This is not a FP related question, but...

If using Windows XP, select all files, then right click, properties and remove the Read-Only
checkmark. This can happen if you at some point copied the files to a CD and then copied them back
to your HD.

Unless you are a person who asks your plumber for medical
advice, I would suggest you pose this question to the
Word newsgroup?

My plumber give better medical advice than my doctor...only the plumber is more expensive :-)
