how do I get outlook to remember passwords?

I just tried what Helen did and it did not work for me!

To explain what I have going on...I have not changed the number or addresses
of the accounts I use, in fact, the laptop I use, which defaults to a
different PST file, does fine with a send/receive. the desktop however,
prompts me for a password for each account, each time I do a send/receive.
Seemed to be the same problem Helen had.

I've tried the registry fix for passwords, tried what Helen did for
different send/receive groups, tried copying the SRS file from the laptop to
the desktop, tried creating new profiles and the password pop-up keeps coming
up in them as well.

If there were registry entries or files I could copy from the working laptop
to the desktop, I'd be thrilled. The desktop accesses the pst file located on
a removable drive, the laptop defaults to a PST on its C drive, and has the
removable drive PST file as a folder.

Any suggestions? I work at home and need to respond to emails immediately
when they arrive...this is nearly impossible with the password having to be
entered each time!

Thanks...Cindy

Yeh...tried that too--quite a few times. What I'm trying right now is with
Outlook Express. I just added all of my emails and passwords there, and it is
working great. I'm going to try and import them into Outlook, see if that
will solve the problem. I'm trying to decide whether I need to reinstall
Outlook, just create a new profile, or what I should do to make it transfer
correctly. The laptop is still running great with all the same settings. I
was even trying a 'file and settings' export there to see if that would solve
the problem. I've about pulled every strand of hair out on this one!
