How do I get out of DOS?

XP Homes, when I click on some Control Panel Icons, the black DOS screen
opens.

Which icons in particular do this?

What happens when you enter the command

EXIT

into the DOS screen?

What antivirus and antispyware programs do you have installed?
Are they fully up to date, with the latest definition files?
Have you done a complete virus and spyware scan of your computer
recently?

Try getting a "second opinion" about any possible viruses or spyware
on your computer by doing a free online scan at one of the following
