How do I get only the latest mails?

Hi,

I have just set up my gmail account in Windows Mail. But when clicking
Send/Receive, Windows Mail starts downloading all of my mails from my gmail
account. Which is thousands of mails, which I'm not interested in. Can I
limit Windows Mail to only receive say the latest 100mails?

Windows Live Mail does exactly the same thing. How does one stop Windows Live
Mail from dumping 15 years of email onto one's computer?

That's selectable in Gmail's POP enabling screen:

See the middle of the orange box where you can select
"Enable POP only for mail that arrives from now on"

All mail clients fetch whatever mail is in the Inbox on the server.
If you don't want that, go to webmail and move the older Inbox mail to a
different webmail folder.

That's a "doh" - thanks for the wake up! I still don't want Windows Live
Mail, but it could make life easier.
