How do I get my slide show to start?

I don't seem to be able to get my slide show to start or rather continue
after the first slide. Any suggestions?

A few ideas then:

1. Slide one has NEITHER the transition on click OR after x secs ticked
2. In slide show > Set up show you have selected KIOSK mode
3. There is a long video or sound on slide 1, transition will wait for it to
end
4. Slide show set up show show slides is not set to all

Thanks for replying to my questions. I looked into the four things you
mentioned and here is what I've come up with

1. there is a transition
2. KIOSK mode is not selected.
3. No video, however I do have a song set.
4. slide show is set.

Still doesn't work. I had a beginning slide set up with music and it worked
fine. I changed it and added pictures and now cannot get the first slide to
change at all. If I go to the second slide the show works fine, but with no
music.

And of course, if I click on the first slide, the show stops.
