Hello,
I need to locate the driver file (.sys ?) for my printer. How do I
do that ?

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. The driver is installed,
probably in winnt\system32\drivers the question is which
one it is?

as I said, go to the makers web site is the easiest.
You could also try looking at the properties of all
the files until you find your maker, or you can just let
windows do it.

Take a look at
C:\WINNT\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3
and adjacent folders. Usually they contain the printer
driver files.
Note that some advanced HP printers offer for download a
complete utility that gets installed through Add/Remove
Programs, and does not appear in the Device Manager
Printers properties.

Simply print a test page. It'll list the printer's driver files.
