How do I find items in my old mail faster?

Everyime i search through my old mail (by clicking find and typing in a
keyword) it seems to take a very long time for thigns to come up. how do i
make it go faster? I am already autoarchiving old items, but its still
taking quite long. Is anyone else having this problem? Please help!

short of using a 3rd party search tool, there isn't much you can do. Using
advanced find is slightly faster - in part because you can go do something
else in outlook while it searches.
