How do I export my contacts to an Excell file?

I go to import/export - export to a file - Microsoft Excel 97-2003 (I dont
get an option for Excel 2007 which I have) - I select my contacts folder -
choose a name for the file - then I get the error "ODBC Excel Driver Login
Failed... Could not find installable ISAM".

What am I doing wrong?

While I can't explain your problem, you could work around it by exporting to
a CSV file.

You don't get an option for any of the O'2007 specific file formats (Excel,
Access etc) since these are not available via the Outlook Import/Export
wizard

#2 - Re: Could not find installable ISAM
Basically means exactly what it says - which typically means that the ODBC
driver file for Excel (which is also the same used for Access etc) is
missing, has become unregistered, or otherwise corrupted.

For versions of Office up to '2003 - this file that would be used is
"ODBCJT32.DLL". For Office '2007 - the ODBC driver file is ACEODBC.DLL which
am assuming is what the Outlook '2007 import/export wizard uses when
exporting Excel 97-'2003 files but not 100% sure since all of our systems
have both drivers installed (also assuming that you're referring to Outlook
'2007 since no version info was provided and you made reference to Excel
'2007). The Aceodbc.dll driver file is installed with Office '2007

Odbcjt32.dll would be located in folder: \Windows\System32
Aceodbc.dll would be located in folder: \Program Files\Common
Files\Microsoft Shared\Office12

Suggestion would be to ensure that all your import/export filters are
installed (check via Office Add/Remove under Outlook settings - given that
you can see the options - logic indicates that they are). If installed, run
"Office Diagnostics" to see if that cures your problem in terms of the
drivers. Also not sure if the Microsoft Text Driver (i.e. CSV) is used for
exporting by the Outlook wizard but if it does, the driver file for that
also happens to be the Odbcjt32.dll file so if that file is missing - then
exporting to CSV would likely also not work either (ContactGenie products
don't use any ODBC drivers for either importing or exporting so this is not
an issue that we'd run across directly).
