how do I enable mouse support in safe mode?

I'm using windows xp home and I can't use my mouse in
safe mode. Please help.
 
What kind of mouse and what motherboard/BIOS?
If it is wireless you probably can't, USB will work if the
USB support is at the BIOS level.

It should work if the BIOS has been set to enable "USB Legacy" support.
