How do I enable Microphon?

I got two Dell laptops and try to use MSN Messenger to
talk to some body. However, I just can not make it work.
I know my microphone is O.K because it works on my
desktop. I can not even record with recording function
built in XP.

Any idea? Thanks.

Yes : make sure its plugged in the right jack socket of your laptop. Then
double click on the loudspeaker icone in the systray and > Options >
Properties > Recording > check the microphone box "Select" > push the slider
up to max > OK. You should then have a working mike.
