i am doing some accounting work that was sent over via fax, i need to correct
some figures and send back. i scanned to ms word so i can correct and save to
disk.

If you're using Word, you'll stand a much better chance of getting an answer
if you ask in a newsgroup related to Word.

This newsgroup is for questions about Access, the database product that's
part of Office Professional.

Oh, and it'll probably help whoever answers your question if you let them
know what version of Word you're using (and it may not hurt to mention what
operating system you're using)

You need OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software to take that image
file and turn it into text.

Sorry. This is a newsgroup dedicated to questions about Access, the
database program in Office Professional. It appears your question may not
be related to these subjects. The Microsoft help system is not all that
clear and may have misdirected you here.

It is best to ask your questions in a newsgroup dedicated to the
subject of your question. You should find people better able to address
your problem there.

Note: It is always best to indicate the name and version of any
program(s) you may be using when asking a question and also indicate the
operating system (like Windows XP or 98) when you ask a question.
