How do I edit an image without losing image map?

I have 10 hot spots on an image and the image is at the top of about 10
pages. I opened the image in PhotoPaint to make a small change and saved it.
When I opened FrontPage I could see that the link addresses had all changed
to my hard drive instead of the www addresses that had been there before. If
I re-publish the site will/does FrontPage correct the link addresses during
the publish? OR will I have to re-link 100 hot spots to the correct www
adresses?

Edit the image outside of FP, then re-import the image back into FP overwriting the current image.
