how do I disable virus scan?

when I open up excel or word documents I get a message:
requesting virus scan... And it takes about 5 seconds
for the document to open up. is there any way I can cut
that feature off? This is really annoying and any help
woul be great.

Brian,

Assuming you have Norton Anti Virus, open it up, click Options,
then Miscellaneous, and uncheck the "Enable Office Plug In"
setting.

If you are using Norton Antivirus then you need to disable the NAV office
plugin:
Open NAV then Options ... Misc ... uncheck the Office plugin.
