How do I disable automatic formatting of special characters?

My computer makes á, é, í, ó, ú, ý whenever I type ' (APOSTROPHE) before the
letter, regardless of whether I click the CTRL button. I want to turn it off
but cannot figure out how!! Anyone know?

The reason it is doing this is because you have an International Keyboard
selected.

Open Control Panel, then go into Regional and Language Options.

Click on the Languages tab.

Click on the Details button.

Under the Default Input Language, change that from the International
Keyboard to the regular one.
