my internal domain is mycomp.internal
my email will be mycomp.ie

Is it possible to set up so that new users will
automatically log on as xxx.internal but have an xxx.ie
email address

if this is not possible and I have to do it manually for
each user where should I change it?

Regards
Dylan.

Yes. Either define an alternate UPN suffix or populate AD via
scripts, which allow you to use any suffix you like. Search
microsoft's web site for "alternate UPN suffix" and you should find
directions.

You can script it, or see above.
