Please HELP! I have a new laptop and was just playing around with it. I
saved a Word document and later deleted the document, but the name of the
document is still there. How can I get rid of the name of the document,
since the document itself is gone!

Hi TB,

You could open a bunch of other documents to force the unwanted entry off the MRU list, or you can reduce the MRU list size. The
process for the latter depends on which version of Word you have.

Since this is a new laptop, you probably have Word 2007, in which it is not
possible (or at least not simple) to remove individual items from the MRU.
You can remove all of them by changing the number displayed to zero and then
back to the desired number to start over. Use Office Button (the big round
button in the upper left corner) | Word Options (in the bottom right corner
of the box) | Advanced: Display: Show this number of Recent Documents.
Change the setting to zero, click OK, then reopen the dialog and change it
back to some other number.
