How do I delete new email messages without opening them?

I have been receiving a lot of junk mail lately at my primary Outlook Express
6.0 email address. In the interest of Internet safety, when I do not know the
sender or I recognize the messsage as junk mail, how can I safely delete it
without opening it? Thank you.

Hello Ken

This is the wrong group where you posted to. This newsgroup is for Outlook
issues not for Outlook Express ones. Take the link below that I supplied and
copy and paste it into your IE Browser. It will take you directly to the
Outlook Express newsgroup where they will be able to address your

Assuming OE follows the same principals as Outlook then just do shft_delete
to permanently delete things without opening.
