How do I create a customized e-mail in Outlook 2003?

I would like to leverage distribution lists that come out of AD to do a
customized e-mail address to a group or selected users from the GAL that
looks something like this:

Dear Glen (where Glen is pulled from the first name field for all users)

and then a standard letter and signature.

This then comes out as a like a mail merge but via e-mail. Can this be done?

Hi Glen,

You can do this with an MS Outlook add-in called Easy Mail Merge. This
add-in will allow you to add names (and other data) automatically from the
contact fields (exactly as it is in your example). You can find out more
